Aims

The course to provide knowledge and proficiency to deck officers to fully understand and use the features of the Electronic Chart Display and Information System through the use of its Raytheon ECDIS equipment with TRANSAS NT-PRO 4000 Full Vision Simulator Program and application of actual operation through the use of simulator.

Upon completion of the course, trainees shall be able to:

• Acquire thorough knowledge and functional understanding of the basic principles of ENC data as displayed in ECDIS.
• To be familiar with the proper use and operation of ECDIS equipment.
• Be aware of its limitations particularly those associated with the errors of interpretations and risk of over reliance and complacency.

Entry Standards

The course is intended to management and Operational Level Officers.

 Course Intake Limitations

The number of trainees shall not exceed to 24 participants.
